Welcome back! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend with your loved ones.
ITBS TESTING- From April 15- April 19th all students will take the Iowa Assessments™ We will begin testing at 8:15 a.m. until we have finished our scheduled tests for that day. Research shows that a student who is well rested and well fed and has a positive attitude about testing is best prepared for testing. You can help your student do his or her best by considering these tips:
• Make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep and eats a healthy breakfast before each day of testing. Also, please make sure that your child is bringing in a healthy snack as well. • Make sure that your child is in school and on time on test days. Reschedule dentist appointments and other out-of-school time to non-testing days.
Please make note of these testing weeks when making appointments. My hope is to test in the morning but there may be a day or two that it may be in the afternoon due to our schedule.
Light Homework this week! We will still be reading for 15-20 nightly and entering their information in their reading logs. We will continue to practice 6’s for a 4 mins quiz this Friday. There will not be a Spelling test this week.
** Reminder! Writing Expectations We will now be using binder paper (notebook paper) for our Spelling tests and our writing for the remainder of this year. I am asking all parents to PLEASE check your child’s work for neatness and their best effort especially when all students should, by now, know how to properly form all letters with the correct shape and sizing.
